I was told by my parents that I was born August 19, 1931 in the borough of Manhattan. Of course, I was too young to have garnered this information on my own. My family moved to Williamsburg, Brooklyn shortly thereafter and we lived in a tenement built over a bar and grill.

I was educated at P.S. 147, P.S. 141 (to which I transferred when World War II broke out), William Gaynor Jr. High School, University of Alabama and graduated from New York University. I went through the Air Force R.O.T.C. program and served thirteen months in Korea after enlisting as an Airman.

While still in the service I married Rena, my eighteen year old red headed sweetheart (Little Red), and now we are looking forward to our fifty-eighth wedding anniversary. We have three sons, three daughters and have had three German Shepherds and now six grandchildren.

I wrote humor columns for the Gannet newspapers for a short time.

Tuscalaural represents a book which has been percolating within me for some time. I hope the reader will get a laugh or two, or three, or four, or maybe more.
